Tiny Pamper for Tiny People!

Hey guys,

Me and the kids had abit of fun today that I thought I would share as an idea for you to do with your own little ones. Not only a big of fun but its a fun way to build up some communication skills and role playing. I saw this amazing quote today that really hit me. Im not sure of the owner of this phrase if there is one but if you do know leave in the comments and ill add in credits but it said ….

Children Don’t Say ” Ive had a hard day today can we talk”

Children Say ” Can You Play With Me”

I found that so hard hitting because I know there has been times when my children have said can you play with me and ive said along the lines of ” im busy at the moment” or “later”. I know we as parent have all said that at one point and it made me think what if they needed to escape from a worry or just wanted to connect with me. It ping my guilt and heart string so ive decided that once a day everyday ill sit with each child role playing or just joining in there game for an hour or half hour no matter what I have to do they will each get that time with me. I Play with the kids alot but its setting certain times for them to interact.

As Derry had been asking so much for her nails done the amazing Dummy Fairy brought her some nail varnishes and stick on nails so I decided to set up a nail bar for the both of them. BDB4FA70-D306-4977-B1C3-402D9263A1CC

I made them stand outside the door and knock like customers. I spoke in my poshest of voices and called them Madam and Sir ha! They called me Lady and we role played a salon which they LOVED. They each took it turns to sit on the bean bag whilst they soaked their names in warm water, I then massaged their hands, feet and arms. Then we did the nail polish. I even had to call the police as my customers were being very rude and would not cough up the fee for my services hah!

To them we were just playing but within the game I asked questions like ” Are you having a good day sir?” or ” What has made you happy today”.  Its an opportunity to ask some questions whilst in play and their minds aren’t guarded and speaking freely about things. It was also a time for some laughing and fun with my babies. I think I enjoyed it just as much as I did. We were all in fits of laughter. I think this is a great activity to do with children. We named our salon “Nats Nails” so creative I know ha!

Have some fun with your kids. Become a kid again. Don’t take life to serious. Let go and make a memory. Not only for them but for you too. When your old and grey and they are off in the world your memories will be what you treasure most, make them worth watching.
